Full-Time Employee of the Year: Mitch Haizel

The Full-time Employee of the Year is chosen from the Full-time Employees of the Quarter.  The 2021 Full-time Employees of the Quarter were:

Congratulations goes to Mitch Haizel, Supervisor of Aquatics & Buildings, on being chosen as the 2021 Full-time Employee of the Year. 

Mitch started working as a Building Technician for the District in January 2015, and has since been promoted to Building Technician – Electrical lead and then to his current role. Mitch regularly showcases his multifaceted skill set as he proficiently performs mechanical, electrical and plumbing maintenance throughout the District.

Mitch has done a phenomenal job of keeping the District operational throughout the pandemic, from ensuring the successful opening and operation of Seascape over the summer, to assisting with the maintenance of the Triphahn Center ice rinks, as well as keeping up with his normal HVAC and electrical projects around the District.

Mitch, we thank you for your hard work and dedicated service.  Congratulations for being awarded Full-time Employee of the Year 2021!

Part-Time Employee of the Year: Jenny Jones

The Part-time Employee of the Year is chosen from the Part-time Employees of the Quarter.  The 2021 Part-time Employees of the Quarter were:

Congratulations goes to Jenny Jones on being chosen as the 2021 Part-Time Employee of the Year.  Jenny started working as a part-time employee with the District in 2012.

Jenny began as a banquet server in 2012, and over the next five years was promoted to banquet captain and then bartender. In 2019, her hard work, dedication and added responsibilities led to her current position f Special Events Coordinator. Jenny’s willingness to go above and beyond the customer’s expectations and her strength in relationship-building is a true asset to the entire Bridges area.

Full-Time Employee of the 4th Quarter: Christine Tusa

Christine has been working for the District since 2005 when she was hired as a part-time desk associate and Kids Corner staff member at the Club at Prairie Stone. In January 2006, Christine was promoted to full-time, as the Operations and Program Supervisor. Her professionalism and leadership led to a further promotion to Operations Manager, and finally to her current role of General Manager of The Club.

Christine’s energetic and positive attitude toward The Club operations has uplifted the facility to new levels and has been extremely beneficial to the facility. She continues to lead the staff at the Club with professionalism in these very challenging times. She is constantly working with staff in customer service training and leads with great example.

The Club has gone through great transformation and is one of the premier facilities in the area under Christine’s guidance. She is willing to assist in all areas that benefit the District, including our First Aid training for the District. We are happy to have her on our team at HEParks!

Part-Time Employee of the 4th Quarter: Missy Motyka-Ciavarella

Missy started working part-time with the District in 2010 as a figure skating instructor to lead the Figure Skating Academy. After brief time away, she returned in 2016 to continue teaching figure skating. Four years later, Missy was promoted to Figure Skating Manager.

Missy continues to excel by adding new classes to the curriculum to add variety to our program. Classes such as Parent/Tot Skating, Jump/Spin, Power Edge and Music Choreography are just a few of the new classes she has added.

Missy is extremely organized and goes above and beyond to manage a well-run program. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed; the figure skating enrollment is the highest it has been in years. Missy has worked hard to secure additional staff to clear the waitlists and offer more skating opportunities to our community. Thank you, Missy, for providing a top-notch skating program!

Part-Time Employee of the 3rd Quarter: Jenny Jones

Jenny started working part-time with the District in 2012 as a banquet server. Five years later, her hard work and dedication led to a promotion to banquet captain, and shortly thereafter, Jenny was added as a bartender. Continually adding to her responsibilities, Jenny became the Special Events Coordinator at Bridges in February of 2019, taking the lead in planning some of our internal special events for the community.

Jenny is such a team player that she routinely helps out working as a bartender and filling shifts in the halfway house. Jenny continues to receive rave reviews from our events on her customer service, going above and beyond the customers’ expectations. Jenny’s willingness to always assist in any gray area and her strength in relationship-building is a true asset to the entire Bridges area.

Full-Time Employee of the 3rd Quarter: Michael Ahrens

Michael has been working for the District for just over a year. Starting in August of 202, Mike has played a key role in the daily operations of The Club as a Building Maintenance Associate. As stated by both his supervisor and the operations manager for The Club, Mike comes to work every day and without question gives everything he has to helping keep The Club looking good. When asked to change up his shifts to help out when we are understaffed, he accommodates whenever he can. His good nature is always consistent and he is well-liked by his peers. Mike is definitely a team player and an asset to The Club.

Over the last year, with the constantly changing challenges associated with the pandemic, Mike was instrumental in keeping The Club safe and clean for all of our members and staff. In addition, he helped to keep The Club running smoothly throughout the course of the renovation project.

Part-Time Employee of the 2nd Quarter: Stacey Lysoivanov

Stacey is one of the long-time part-time employees of the District and is actively working through her 22nd year with Seascape. Her hire dates back to June 1999 when she began her career with the District as a lifeguard. Her passion for aquatics and operation of Seascape is like no other! For many years, Stacey ran the swim lesson program as the on-deck coordinator creating the curriculum and overseeing the instructors. She is currently working as Seascape’s Pool Manager and contributed greatly to the successful opening of the pool this season!

Stacey is one of the long-time part-time employees of the District and is actively working through her 22nd year with Seascape. Mitch began his career with the District in January 2015 and is currently employed as the Supervisor of Aquatics & Buildings.

Over the last year, with the constantly changing challenges associated with the pandemic, Mitch and his team did a phenomenal job of keeping the District operational. Over the last quarter, he has been instrumental in getting the Seascape pool open and running, ensuring the splash pads and park restrooms are operational, and assisting the ice maintenance team with the Triphahn Center ice rink, all this in addition to his normal HVAC and electrical projects around the District.
