Public Input Meeting at Chestnut Park, August 11

A public meeting has been scheduled for August 11, 2015 at 6 pm at Chestnut Park in an effort to get resident input on the location of an aesthetic improvement enclosure for the port-o-let restroom at the park. Planning staff has completed plans for construction of the enclosure.  The design plans are consistent with the plans approved by both the Building & Grounds Committee and the Park Board in September of 2011.  The port-o-let structure at this park is an addition as soccer practices have only been scheduled for this location since 2013.  Once plans are finalized staff will submit them for Village code review and installation will be schedule for late summer or early fall.

Free Mulch Now Available

The Park District will continue its Free Mulch offer it started in 2011. Mulch is now available in several locations. The mulch was previously used as fall material beneath playground equipment to protect children upon impact of falling. It is replaced each year with a fresh supply as a safety measure. The used mulch is available for free to residents to use in their home gardens and landscaping, while it lasts. Read More »

Congratulations Pickleball Champs!

Congratulations to the Senior Games Pickleball winners! Our 2015 Senior Games are in the book. From the 59 teams registered this year, a huge thank you to all the volunteers that made for a fun 3 days of pickleball for us. Over 270 volunteer hours were devoted to the tournament just on the 3 tournament days. Thanks to everyone from our referees, table workers, runners, lines people, photographers and to those who just chipped in when asked. The weather made for some trying times, but with the help of the Prairie Stone Sports & Wellness Center staff and many others, it all worked out. See photos here.
