AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT

HOTT Productions, NFP excitedly announces auditions for the upcoming production of “Xanadu”! (Book by Douglas Carter Beane, Music and Lyrics by Jeff Lynne and John Farrar)

HOTT Productions, NFP believes that everyone should have opportunities to enhance their lives through creative and educational activities in environments that are positive and welcoming to all, regardless of and individuals race, culture, community, identities, language, and/or or abilities.


Auditions will be by video submissions ONLY. Please submit a video at least 1 minute in length (exceeding no more than 1 minute and 30 seconds, please) of a cut from a song from or in the style of the show (80’s rock/pop). Make sure the video displays a clear view of your entire upper body, and begins with a slate (stating your name, and the song you will be singing). Videos with accompaniment are preferred, but not required. On the next form of this page, you will be asked to paste a link to your audition video in the answer line. Acceptable links are to Google Drive, Dropbox, or Youtube. You can not upload the file to this form directly. You will not be able to submit your audition form without pasting your video link. Conflicts: Please be prepared to list all conflicts with the rehearsal schedule as listed above. Conflicts will be taken into consideration when casting.

Casting will be communicated via text or email.

If cast, all actors are REQUIRED to be registered for the production through the Hoffman Estates Park District. A registration fee for the program of $150 will then be deducted from your park district account. Payment plans are available upon reviewed request.

Experience the wonderment as Clara celebrates the holidays with her family and Godfather “Heir Drosselmeyer”, only to fall asleep in the parlor along side her Nutcracker. She is transported into a dream where the Mouse King and his Hip Hop Army of Rats fight off the Nutcracker and his Tap Dancing Soldiers. Clara journeys through the Land of Snow and meets the Snow Queen and King and their court of dancing Snowflakes. The Snowflakes guide her to the Land of Sweets, where Clara is introduced to the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, along with the waltzing Flowers, ribbon twirling Candy Canes, tumbling Cotton Candy, swirling Chocolate, jumping Tea, mesmerizing Coffee, and much more. Join us and be a part of the MAGIC of The Nutcracker!


Auditions: Saturday, August 24, 2025 at The Triphahn Center all other classes will be held at Vogeli Barn. Prior to rehearsals beginning, all dancers must be registered for the production through the Hoffman Estates Park District. A participation fee of $200.00 will include the rental of ALL costumes and a Nutcracker shirt. For additional information email hottdancestudio@gmail.com or call us (847-650-4688). L. Frank Baum’s beloved story of a young girl’s adventure in a magical land has been entertaining audiences for over a century. MGM’s blockbuster 1939 film adaptation, features the timeless songs you all know and love. This stage adaptation, featuring the characters and celebrated songs from the film, brings the wondrous Land of Oz to life in a jubilant theatrical experience.
Join Dorothy and her loyal companion Toto as they “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” through the Land of Oz, determined to reach the Emerald City, where the great and powerful Wizard of Oz will help them get home. Of course, along the way, Dorothy encounters witches (both good and bad), Munchkins, talking trees and winged monkeys. But most importantly, she befriends three unique characters: a Scarecrow with no brain, a Tin Man with no heart, and a Lion with no “nerve.” Their journey to happiness – and self-awareness – is a glowing testament to friendship, understanding and hope in a world filled with both beauty and ugliness.


Class Information:

Classes meet 9:30am-1:30pm. Depending on how your actor is cast they will be assigned to attend either 9:30am-11:30am or 11:30am-1:30pm.

Some students cast in larger roles may be asked to attend the full session.

Shrek Jr

The Stage Awaits! Shrek the Musical Jr.

Wednesday, JULY 9, 2025 – 7PM

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in “Shrek The Musical Jr.,” based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, “Shrek The Musical Jr.” is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

JERSEY BOYS

JERSEY BOYS Production follows the fascinating evolution of four blue-collar kids who became one of the greatest successes in pop-music history. Performance was held June 27, 2025 at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg..


FROZEN JR.

HEParks Disney’s Frozen Jr. performance was held on Friday, February 28th at 7PM, with H.O.T.T. (Helping Others Through Theater) Productions, NFP.


THE NUTCRACKER BALLET

The Nutcracker Ballet was performed on November 21 & 22, 2024 at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. The Nutcracker featuring 40 talented dancers—and was an unforgettable show for the whole family!

The timeless musical “Oliver!,” based on Charles Dickens’ beloved novel Oliver Twist was performed September 27 & September 28 at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. This production featured a talented cast of over 45 performers from the Hoffman Estates Park District, accompanied by a live 20-piece orchestra.


Willy Wonka Jr!

Youth HOTT (Hands On Theatre Training) and HEParks performers presented Ronald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka Jr.” Students kindergarten through 12th grade worked together to develop various theatrical skills including acting, singing, dance, costume and scenic design, while putting an overall emphasis on teamwork, acceptance, and inclusion. Performances were sold out in the Spring at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg. The group also performed live at the Summer Suunds on the Village Green in the outdoor bandshell.
