Our park district cannot thrive with staff support alone—we need the hearts, hands, and skills of our neighbors. A team of dedicated volunteers creates connections, weaving the fabric of our community with every interaction. Whether you’re passionate about coaching, have expertise in gardening and beautifying outdoor spaces, can contribute energy to community events, or want to support our 50+ community center, there’s a place for you here.

The Friends of HEParks Foundation is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization created to fuel scholarships, fund adaptive programming, and provide community events so that everyone has meaningful access to recreation. Through the Scholarship Fund, we help finance recreational scholarships for at-risk families while supporting special recreation projects—from wheelchair-accessible buses to free family movie nights.
