Chhatwani is fulfilling the\nunexpired term of Commissioner Mike Bickham through April 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRaj is a strong appointment to the Board of Commissioners.\nShe embodies the spirit of Hoffman Estates and brings talent, expertise and\nenergy to the board\u201d said Craig Talsma, Executive Director of HEParks and Board\nSecretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous to her appointment as Board Commissioner, Chhatwani\nserved, since 2015, on the HEParks Board as a Community Representative on the\nAdministration and Finance committee.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Active in the financial industry for 20 years, Chhatwani\nbrings business and finance insight to the Board of Commissioners. She holds a\nMasters of Business Administration in Finance from DePaul University and a PhD\nin Psychology from Barkatullah University. Her professional achievements also\ninclude a Psychology Publication relating to Cognitive Styles and the Family\nEnvironment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a resident of Hoffman Estates for 20 years, Chhatwani\nenjoys HEParks community events, fitness classes and spending time outdoors\nwith her family. She also serves the local and global community through her\nwork with organizations including The Kiran Anjali Project, The Sindhi\nAssociation of Metropolitan Chicago, and Live Out Loud. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Hoffman Estates\nPark District<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HEParks is governed by seven elected commissioners who\nrepresent the recreational needs of the community for four-year unpaid terms.\nPark Commissioners have the power to levy taxes within prescribed limits,\nestablish or change Park District policies, sign agreements, award contracts\nand possess all of the capabilities similar to those of a board of directors\nfor a public corporation. Assisting the elected Board of Commissioners are\nvolunteer Community Representatives who serve on sub-committees. The current\nboard members include Robert Kaplan, Board President, Lili Kilbridge, Vice\nPresident, Keith Evans, Treasurer, Ron Evans Assistant Secretary, Commissioner\nPat McGinn, Commissioner Pat Kinnane, Commissioner Rajkumari Chhatwani and Craig\nTalsma Executive Director of HEParks and Board Secretary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoffman Estates Park District proudly offers first-class\nparks, facilities, programs, and services to meet the needs of a diverse and\ndynamic population.
