NAEYC ACCREDITATION

The Hoffman Estates Park District preschool program at the Community Center Ice Arena and Willow Recreation Center were granted accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This prestigious recognition has been achieved by less than 8% of early childhood programs nationwide.

NAEYC accreditation is a rigorous, voluntary process by which early childhood programs demonstrate that they meet national standards of excellence. NAEYC is the nation's oldest and largest organization of early childhood professionals dedicated to improvement of quality early childhood education.

Preschool 2008-2009 Registration Information

Registration for the 2008-2009 school year is available in person at the Community Center and Ice Arena or Willow front desk. Limited spaces remain. Call Program Manager Alisa Kapusinski at (847)781-3631 with any questions.

Our Preschool Program

You want the best for your child, and that includes providing them with life

experiences that foster their self-respect, self-worth, and a sense of belonging.

The Hoffman Estates Park District Preschool program promotes all that and so

much more.

Our philosophy and environment incorporates learning with creativity and fun.

The Hoffman Estates Park District Preschool is NAEYC-accredited. "As one of the few park district programs in the area to receive this accreditation, we are proud of this great accomplishment," said Alisa Kapusinski, program manager. "And we intend to continue building our program and striving to offer a high-quality learning and growing experience for our young residents."

Curriculum

Our curriculum emphasizes all educational disciplines and helps youngsters develop into independent, imaginative, and confident thinkers. By using art and music, math and science, and reading and language, youngsters grow to love learning. Teachers use age-appropriate toys, games, and stories to help children develop to their fullest potential. The curriculum also focuses on creative activities, including cooking and open-ended art. By enabling children to explore these activities, our youngsters develop a sense of self-expression that extends well beyond their preschool years.

Environment

A safe, positive environment is critical when learning, and we provide nothing less. From our bright, warm rooms to an encouraging, secure atmosphere, children know they can safely explore their boundaries. Our open environment also encourages youngsters to develop social skills and build friendships ? an important part of preschool.

Equipment

Developing large and small motor skills is critical in early childhood. The Hoffman Estates Park District Preschool program offers an established curriculum that incorporates skills specifically designed to develop a child's motor skills.

Large motor skills are developed through exercise and physical-related activities and help promote physical and intellectual fitness. Fine motor skills can be developed with table-top activities including puzzles, cutting, and coloring, which also help advance thinking skills. Our pre-school fosters the development of these skills with state-of-the-art equipment?inside and outside!

Teachers

When there are nurturing teachers, children can accomplish anything. Our teachers intuitively understand young children and can cultivate the child's natural curiosity, enabling them to flourish.

Our teachers all hold degrees or special teaching certificates. Combined with years of experience, our teachers have mastered the skills needed to ensure results.

But what truly sets our teachers apart is their natural warmth and generous spirit that foster true understanding and learning in their students.

Preschool helps give youngsters an educational advantage, but it's important to find a program that offers children as much fun as education. The Hoffman Estates Park District Preschool program provides youngsters just the right balance to help them thrive.
