Baseball & SoftballBaseball leagues are available for boys ages 7-25 and softball leagues are available for girls ages 7-14. Co-ed youth T-ball is also available for children ages 5-6. Teams are formed in winter, with practices beginning in April and the games played May through June. All teams are headed by a volunteer coach and players ages 5-12 receive a participation trophy. some of the area’s best ballplayers. Travel team players are selected through tryouts, which are typically held mid-summer. All parents and coaches involved in baseball or softball leagues at the Hoffman Estates Park District should download and print the Parent/Coach Handbook and General Rules below. In addition, be sure to download the rules specific to your league.
AREA YOUTHS WIN HONORS IN AQUAFINA MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PITCH, HIT AND RUN COMPETITIONAs many as 48 participants competed in the Pitch, Hit, and Run Competition on April 26 at Cannon Crossing. These participants won first place honors in their respective age groups. They are:
The winners will compete in the Sectional competition, to be held 5/18 in Woodstock. Sectional All-Around Champions become eligible to qualify for the Team Championship, location and date TBD. Pitch, Hit and Run is a baseball skills competition that allows youngsters to showcase their talents in pitching, hitting, and running with scores determined by individual performances in each skills event.
