Benefits of Walking!
According to the Illinois Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP), walking for pleasure is the most popular outdoor activity
in the state (80%).

The National Cancer Institute found that 75 minutes of brisk walking per week equates to an extra 1.8 years of life expectancy as opposed to a sedentary lifestyle. When the number of minutes of brisk walking per week increased to 150- 299 minutes, the gain in life expectancy went up to 3.4 additional years (2014).
