Here’s what’s happening with the Hoffman Estates Park District.

Bo's Run Dog Park Dedication

The Hoffman Estates Park District has expanded Willow dog park (3600 Lexington Drive) from ½ of an acre to nearly two acres off off-leash fun! A dedication ceremony has been scheduled for September 11, 2010 from 8:30 to 9:30am with a ribbon cutting at 9:00am. Paw Law Dog Training will be on-site to show dog owners how to use agility equipment. Owners can even try their furry friend on the equipment! There will be raffles and free giveaways from Ruff & Ready, justdogtreats.com and Biscuits & Bows.

Disc Golf Doubles Tournament

The Hoffman Estates Park District’s first ever doubles disc golfing tournament will be held on October 2nd at the new Black Bear Park (1784 Essex Drive). The tournament will begin at 10AM. The tournament will be open to up to 26 disc golfing teams of all ages and skill levels. Registration for the tournament will be divided into two groups - experienced players and recreational or novice players.

Gearing up for 3rd Annual Scarecrow Festival

On Saturday, September 25th from Noon – 3:00PM, the Hoffman Estates Park District will host its third annual Scarecrow Festival at Vogelei Park, 650 West Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates. This event will be held in conjunction with Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play. There will be a scarecrow contest, food, games & activities, children’s entertainment, an outdoor climbing wall and more!

Party in the Park Promises Fun for the Whole Family

More than 3,000 parents, children, couples, seniors, and teens will head to High Point Park (1704 Glen Lake Road) on Saturday, August 7th for a Party in the Park, hosted by the Hoffman Estates Park District. The event, now in its tenth year, will feature many popular attractions including a children’s performer, a Frisbee competition for dogs, and many fun contests and activities.

Parents will find everything they need to keep their family happy: a food & beer tent, entertainment for all ages, games and crafts for children, music and dancing. The event is open to the public from 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Admission is free.
