Friends of HE Parks is the charitable arm of the Hoffman Estates Park District. The foundation was created to enhance the quality of life for all community members by helping provide the best in parks, facilities and recreational opportunities. All donations to the Foundation are tax deductible as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations or in-kind gifts may be contributed for specific purposes, or may be unrestricted to provide assistance where most needed. Friends of HE Parks augments the established direction of the Hoffman Estates Park District by funding the following programs:

Family Rec Program: Assistance for Disadvantaged Families

It takes a village to raise a child, and in Hoffman Estates, there are a significant number of children in need of a caring village. To ensure that disadvantaged children and their families are provided the same recreational and leisure opportunities as their neighbors, the Hoffman Estates Park District Foundation has created the Family Rec program. Family Rec offers financial support for all park district programs from golf to summer camp to enhance a family's quality of life.

Park Enhancement Program

Parks are essential to help maintain the quality of a community's life but not every park can serve every residential need. There are extras that are necessary to make a good park a great park. The Foundation's park beautification program helps provide the "extras" tax dollars can't provide. The Park Enhancement Program seeks to do everything from providing more green space by adding more park trees to providing additional park playground or leisure equipment for area residents to enjoy.

Special Programs

To help build stronger neighborhood ties and provide an opportunity to strengthen family bonds, the Hoffman Estates Park District Foundation seeks to fund special programs, such as FREE MOVIE NIGHTS, to help benefit the entire community. These special programs provide residents with innovative and creative ways to spend their recreational and leisure time.

Contributions

The Hoffman Estates Park District Foundation accepts contributions or bequests in the form of land, property, cash and in-kind gifts. An individual may wish to restrict the gift for a specific purpose, or may wish to simply make a tax-deductible donation to the Foundation's general fund.

Friends of HE Parks Endowment Fund

The Friends of the Parks Endowment seeks to strengthen community and family ties by providing a self-generating funding source to finance recreational scholarships to the disadvantaged in the Hoffman Estates community, while also funding special recreational projects. The recreational scholarships help furnish hard-working, financially limited residents with an opportunity to enjoy the same recreational and leisure opportunities as their neighbors.

With a goal to raise $250,000, the Friends of HE Park Endowment also helps fund needed community programs such as the Hoffman Estates' permanent Safety Village that educates youngsters on how to be and stay protected. The Endowment endeavors to also fund community programs that will enhance the physical, recreational, educational and cultural life for Hoffman Estates residents.

The Friends of the Parks Endowment was organized to help Hoffman Estates residents in perpetuity. But its goals can't be met without your help. Contributions in the form of cash, insurance policies, real estate, stocks, bonds, wills, and trusts are all welcome ways of supporting the endowment. All contributions at the established giving levels are tax deductible, cumulative, and never expire.

Cash Contributions
  • Cash donations from individuals, corporations, organizations, and other foundations are accepted and provide a means to ensure our Foundation goals are attained. All cash contributions are tax deductible.
Real Estate
  • Real estate gifts for investment purposes, or for actual park district use, is a great way to ensure the endowment fund goals are met. While the donation is deductible, special government rules apply.
Insurance Policies
  • If you no longer need your insurance policy, you can gift it to the endowment fund. The policy value is considered to be tax deductible.
Securities
  • All types of stocks, bonds, annuities, and other types of securities are accepted and help fund the endowment's investment future.
Wills and Trusts
  • Anyone may bequest personal property, cash, real estate, or life insurance policies to the endowment fund. An attorney would be needed to make the necessary arrangements.

Many thanks to these annual sponsors for helping us bring valuable recreation opportunities to all members of our community:
